About the Author
Kristy Mosher is a veterinary professional and leadership consultant who writes at the intersection of people, systems, and care.
With years of experience working across veterinary medicine, including emergency care, general practice, and leadership roles, Kristy has seen firsthand how deeply committed professionals can still be harmed by poorly designed systems. Her work focuses on emotional intelligence, leadership behavior, work design, and psychological safety in veterinary teams.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology (October 2024) and a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (January 2026). Her education informs her systems-based, evidence-driven approach to leadership while remaining grounded in the realities of veterinary practice.
Through Heart and Mind VetMed, Kristy explores why burnout, reactivity, and conflict are so common in veterinary medicine and why those outcomes often make sense given the structure of the work. Her writing blends psychology, healthcare research, and lived experience to help teams move beyond survival mode toward clarity, sustainability, and humane leadership.
Kristy believes leadership is not about titles, toughness, or endurance. It’s about providing purpose, direction, and motivation in environments that would otherwise overwhelm people—and designing work that doesn’t hurt the humans doing it
